This Is Not Real Love – Mid Week Chart

Oh well… the mid-week charts are in…  It’s not really a surprise.   The new George Michael and Mutya single – This Is Not Real Love – is currently just scraping inside the top 20, at #16 in the UK charts.

It’s pretty clear.  George doesn’t think it’s worth spending any time or money promoting singles any more.   That’s fine, but to be honest, that means there’s no point releasing them.    I wish George luck with sales of the Twenty Five album – but to be honest, the presales of that aren’t looking that great either…

It’s silly – that record had the potential to be a Number One single… which could have done wonders for sales of the new album.

  1. Thats GM all over….full of wasted potential….well certainly over the last decade anyway. Unless he really has had enough of being at the top of the charts…although i don’t believe that for a second.
I guess he said it all on the Southbank show, smoking dope stops you having ambitions or goals….well it seems GM is right on that point!!

As for the 25 album…what do you reckon? Top 5?…i’d be suprised if it goes to number one….theres nothing on it to spark an interest i think, well apart from the Mutya single…..i don’t rate understand(havent played it much 2 be honest) that much and as for the new Macca duet….its just what i thought it would be…..not as good as the original!

  2. On what planet do you all think you live ??? The world music of these days is “crap basically”….. . Didn’t you all get that by now ??? Did you saw something real valuable in this stupid joke of today’s music industry since 1998 ??? oh, i guess a little exception – i had a real unbelievable surprise when i song like I saved the world today ( yeah, funny and ironic “coincidence” with the dead of pop music that just happened around those years ) came up , in 2000 i guess, and a real paroxysm pleasure experience i had with that, around all those sterile snd stupid years…… anyway…..all i trying to say is that we saw a colossal amount of NOTHING.

George seems not to see this, or isn’t quite willing to see that, or just forgot what himself said about that crap pop music…..

Really, i don’t understand why he is so furious and you all same….. It’s a real pity to belong to the world music industry those days. It’s a shame. you could get sludged if you want to stay in. Doesn’t worth at all!

George belongs from a long time to the real book of the music history…… and nothing can change that, but if he is strongly trying to spoil that, who knows ? , maybe he really can do some…… but i really doubt, lol.

and i guess we are all Through as well.

u got to give for what u take, remember? so we have to give for what we took…..

let’s take a bow and be grateful to George for what he has done and gave as all those 25 years……. he is still TLTI in our heart forever.

    the rest is silence.

  4. THIS single is the one I believe should do VERY, VERY well. It is THAT good!

How about giving it a bit of a push, George? You know how this industry works, no use fighting it all your life.

  5. There is no hope in this song…it ends on such a bleak note…That for me is a major flaw…it runs against a basic human need*…Which is why I cannot see it ever becoming a classic.

And it’s not the first time George does “hopeless” either. That’s something I don’t understand. Use your Art to help people connect with their “lower emotional register” by all means…but then how do you accomplish healing if you don’t even try to take them to a higher ground before the end?

  6. I bought the album and think it’s fantastic. I loved the new tracks on there, and yes, I think This is not real love along with An easier affair should have been no 1’s
    George is wonderful
