I've noticed some people having a go at Goss Gallery owner, Kenny Goss, for constantly socialising with the glitterati. I think they're being unfair. Remember that Kenny's job is running his art gallery. And when it comes to running a successful gallery (i.e. actually selling lots of works of art at high prices), the key to success isn't knowing a lot about art. It's about having the social network to bring high-spending customers into the gallery to buy.
In short – it's not what you know. It's who you know. So, even if Kenny didn't enjoy all the dinner parties, and the gala parties, he'd have to mingle for business reasons.
